REGISTRATION DISTRICTS IN DERBYSHIRE

The list below shows the civil registration districts in Derbyshire between 1837 and 1974. The same districts were used to compile the censuses returns for the years 1851 to 1911.

County boundaries and definitions have changed considerably since 1837, but the term "Derbyshire" on these pages refers to:

• the ancient county of Derby (1837–89)
• the administrative county of Derby (1889–1974), with the county borough of Derby.
